Fundraising

McGilvra Elementary is an exceptional public school, thanks to our hard working teachers, staff and parents like you! A significant part of our success rides on PTA-funded staff and programs that we consider high priority for enriching our children’s education, but which are not funded by Seattle Public Schools.

McGilvra PTA-funded staff and resources:

This year we need to raise close to $1,700 per student in order to maintain these programs – a bargain for the quality of education and enrichment we are able to provide for our children. We understand that not all families can give this full amount, and we appreciate the generosity of many families who can give more.

We highly encourage you to support your kids and local education by making McGilvra PTA a priority charity this year. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible.

Fundraising Calendar 2018/2019

Wildcat Move-a-thon, October 10th, 2018  

The Wildcat Move-a-thon is a fun-filled event that promotes health and exercise while raising funds for our school. This year, students will have the chance to participate in a variety of ways, including jogging, walking, yoga, or parkour. We will also have quiet areas set up for students who prefer a more quiet environment. Our goal is to raise $75k during this annual event.

Fall Carnival (formerly known as Harvest Dance), November 2, 2018

Our first ever Fall Carnival will be held on Friday, November 2nd from 6-8pm. Enjoy games, yummy food, face painting, prizes, and much more! All proceeds from this event will go towards funding the McGilvra Pantry, which provides non-perishable food items to families that struggle with food security from our school community.

Spirit Drive, November 1 – November 30, 2018

Spirit Drive is our annual push to ask for donations before year end. This is the easiest way to donate and give directly to McGilvra. A perfect time to make a donation before the holidays or use your corporate matching program. This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and our goal is to raise approx. $145k.

Bi-annual Online Auction, March 25-31, 2019

Every two years, we bring our auction online. Start brainstorming the items or experiences you can donate or host, or local businesses that would be willing to make a donation. Every dollar counts and our goal is to raise approx. $60k.

Grade Level Fundraisers

  •    K and 1 – Madison Park Home Tour
  •    2nd Grade – Bingo Night
  •    3rd Grade – Ticket Sales at Fall Carnival
  •    4th and 5th – Carnival Food and Holiday Greens and others TBD

Throughout the year, we will communicate about these events through student folders, email, PawPrint, our PTA website, and your room parents. Please remember to read all school communications to make sure you don’t miss anything!
